Johdpur - Umaid Bhawan Palace

Jaipur- Raj Villas - what an unexpected surprise
 
Museums and Destinations:    
Jodhpur - Mehrangarh Fort, Johdpur city and bazaar. Ask your guide to take you to the Rat temple between Bikaner and Johdpur
Bikaner - Junagarh fort, Lalgarh palace
Udaipur - City Palace, Jagdish Temple. Also get out of town to see the Jain Temple at Ranakpur.
Jaipur - City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar Observatory, Nahargarh Fort
Pushkar - Camel fair
Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer Fort, Havelis
There is so much more. We were there in 2000. It's time to go back

Hotel Imperial is the grand old Colonial Hotel of Delhi. It's been restored and it's quite wonderful. A great way to arrive to India
There are also many more modern experiences if you'd rather; ranging from the Ashok to the InterContinental, Hilton, Meridien and so forth.

Red Fort, Lahore Gate and the Chatta Chowk (covered Bazaar)
Qutub Minar
India Gate
Humayun's Tomb (the predecessor of the Taj Mahal)
Raj Ghat - The memorial to Mahatma, Indira and Raj Ghandi. It's very powerful

HotelsAgra.com has a pretty complete list. We stayed at the Taj View. It was OK (reminiscent of a Holiday Inn) but there is no view of the Taj

Yes, Indian food is better in India. Be safe and drink bottled water and no ice (unless it's made from purified water)
